Kaffa is originally derived from the word Kaffa which means coffee, Hoist is a synonym for boost which means to be uplift. This name is significant to the company because it represents Kaffa Hoist Culture, the brand's vision.

Kaffa Hoist Company is a fast-food café, based in Johannesburg. We also do Mobile Catering Services which are available for corporate, private, and general functions such an end of year events.

The company began operations in 2016 as a Pop-Up Café in the Guga Sthebe Tourism Centre in Langa Township, Western Cape. We saw a market gap for dynamic cafes in unusual markets and thought it was the best time to invest. Being in this space allowed us to collaborate with well-known brands such as Selati and Radisson Blue Hotels, and we were also recognized by a few local magazines such as Drum magazine, City Vision, and Cape Town Magazine.
